Surprise! Weddings Are the New Trend—And I’m Here for It

I don’t usually photograph weddings—but lately, I’ve had the joy of capturing a very special kind: surprise weddings. This is the second time I’ve been booked for one, and just like the first, it was a beautiful, emotional, and unforgettable day.

Anitra and Lewis planned something truly unique. Their guests thought they were arriving for a surprise party—but the tables were turned in the best way. When Lewis walked out in his white suite everyone was so surprised. The wedding ceremony was filled with love, laughter, and plenty of happy tears.

I knew the plan all along, and it was such a treat to witness the guests’ reactions as everything unfolded. Every detail of the day was thoughtful and full of heart, and I’m so thankful I got to capture those genuine, joy-filled moments.

If surprise weddings are becoming a trend, I’m all for it. There’s something so special about flipping expectations and celebrating love in such a personal way.
